Monument to the Great Fire of London

The Monument, originally built to commemorate the rebuilding of the City of London following the great fire of 1666, has recently been reopened to the public following restoration by conservation specialists Cathedral Works Organisation Ltd. Pooil Vaaish limestone was supplied for the 311 steps which lead to the viewing platform & larger slabs for the flooring area of the kiosk. The official opening ceremony will take place in March.
